Meare Village Primary Parent Staff Association

In the academic year 2002-2003 the PSA continued to support the school both through active involvement in school events and activities and through a variety of fundraising efforts.

Fundraising activities included:

• Pub Quiz Nights
• Marshalling at Glastonbury Carnival
• The Annual Summer Fete
• The Christmas Fayre

The PSA also organised a 'Sponsor a Book for Meare Village Primary School' through which the school received over 20 books for the school library.

Parent helpers were involved in the organisation of after school trips and activities.

Fundraising activities enabled the PSA to fund:

• The purchase of books to restock the school library
• Donations to each teacher to spend on their classroom
• Donations to the school as a whole

In addition the PSA provided:

• The children's Christmas Party
• A visit from the 'Flying Pizza Company'
• A Christmas Disco for the children

APPEAL TO PARENTS

Any parents interested in becoming involved in the PSA are ALWAYS most welcome. You may be as involved as you would like to be: from helping once a year at one of the events, to coming to meetings or even standing for election to the committee!

The next meeting will be held on Wednesday September 17th September 2003 at 3.00 p.m. and the AGM will be held on Wednesday 15th October 2003 at 7.30 p.m. Both meetings are held at school and are open to all. PLEASE COME ALONG!
